Would you really want to live in a world in which no one has any fear of facing justice in the here and now? I have looked at myself. I have murdered no one. I do not steal. I don't cheat. If anything, I try to help people, including people who have been victimized by crime. I'm not perfect, but I think I am of sufficent moral calibre and intellectual reason that I can use my human judgment to reasonable judge whether or not there is enough evidence of a crime and enough reason to believe a particular person did it without unreasonable doubt. To not exercise that judgment would be to allow injustice to prevail and leave me a tacit consipirator in allowing injustice to continue.
